Summary: Responsible for supervising students during lunch and recess time. Assists in the maintenance of the cafeteria and assisting students.
This position is required to work Monday – Friday, Student Days 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. OR 10:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be alert at all times to students and their needs.
- Supervise and monitors students in the cafeteria during meals and at recess either indoors or outside.
- Maintain order in the cafeteria and reinforces cleanup procedures.
- Wash tables during each lunch shift while supervising students.
- Inform administration immediately of any serious problems.
- Maintain a safe environment during lunch and recess.
- Enforce safety rules and appropriate behavior standards and playground/cafeteria policies set by the district and building principal.
- Supervises students when traveling from lunch room to classrooms or playground.
- Supervises student in designated areas in the event of bad weather.
- Controls the play environment on the playground or in building.
- Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Maintains a positive demeanor at all times and uses appropriate language.
- Maintains confidentiality about students according to FERPA and district policies.
- Ability to resolve problems between students.
- Maintains a professional relationship with students, staff and the community.
- Ability to work well alone and in a team.
- Speak, hear, see and write clearly with or without assistive device(s).
- Walk, stand for the full scheduled period, with minimal sitting options.
- Adhere to all Board and District policies
- Regular, predictable and physical attendance
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic understanding and knowledge of current technology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with students
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be physically present, regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust, focus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise students when during lunch and at recess.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports.
Computer Skills:
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract and multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to solve problems
